The Lee-Fishburne 'Shack' was built in about 1925 and was the firsthouse built on Edisto Beach by "Major Lee and his wife who was a Fishburne". The story is that they came here on their honeymoon, and were welcomed by Edisto islanders, and given a live chicken as a wedding gift.
