The hand drawn tree on the right is the 25"x30" and incorporates two images of houses in the family, and, done for my nephew, Skip Mangum, takes the history back to Dr. Henry Woodward,

the first English Settler in South Carolina, and to Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland! 

   
 

The house at 937 Granville Road, in Charlotte, NC,on the left, on the tree designed for my niece, Leslie, was designed by the architect C.C. Hook in the early 1920's for the Charles Lowe family. C.C.Hook also redesigned the Duke Mansion in Myers Park just a few houses away on Hermitage Road. The house was owned by Charlotte Martin (child of Benjamin Webb Martin above) and her husband, Tom Hawthorne, in the years from 1966-1999. In those years,the family of blended of children included 8 children, and 14 grandchildren
